Mission Statement

The mission of R. C. Hemphill Elementary School's teachers and staff is to prepare productive world-class students. We will accomplish this by working collaboratively to provide a comprehensive curriculum that is challenging and developmentally appropriate, implemented by a dedicated staff. We will create an environment that allows each child to develop to their maximum potential.

  About The School  

Hemphill Elementary School Hemphill Elementary is a school that encourages a quality and rigorous curriculum. The teachers have a high expectations and implement a curriculum that is engaging, purposeful, research based and aligned with the local, state (Alabama Course of Study) and national standards. Hemphill is an Alabama Reading Initiative Demonstration Site. Our curriculum is supported by researched based strategies developed to teach reading and writing. We also provide a culture experience through an enriching curriculum that is comprised of art, music dance and physical education. At Hemphill we meet and exceed academically, with increased parental and community involvement, and closing the achievement gap.
